You are exiled. Torn away by duty, failure, shame, or determination from a community that loved you - but not enough to save you. Their beliefs about who you should be - who you were supposed to be - meant the choice to leave wasn’t really a choice at all. It was survival. They love you, but they don’t want YOU back. Just what you could have been.

Lonely Road is a solo TTRPG made for the Desert Dwellings TTRPG Jam - it is directly inspired by the experiences of real stories and media I've encountered and experienced about fateful, coming of age journeys - like coming out for the first time as a part of the queer community, taking a dangerous trek across country lines for asylum, and great media representations such as Life of Pi, Zuko's whole desert sequence in Avatar The Last Airbender, and many many more. Journeys are a part of life, but not all inceptions for such travels (whether mental, physical, or emotional) are out of an earnest desire to grow. Sometimes, they are about survival, and picking yourself up in pieces afterwards to forge a more whole future.

More often than not, such journeys are made down lonely roads.

Hiya! I'm reading over the rules and I am confused about one thing. Under the Basic Roll heading, it says to use 1d6 on my rolls, but that on a 7 or higher, it's a miss. How can I get a 7+ on a 1d6 roll? (same issue on the Oracle) is it supposed to be 2d6?

Hi! Nope, it's 1d6 to start out with - but with the push mechanic, you can 'choose' to roll another 1d6 and add it to your result. In which case, if you choose to 'push' your luck, you might end up with a 7+ result. That sentence is under the basic roll section underneath the 4 or lower result, but it's not very prominent! I'll clear it up in a revision soon!

Ahh I see! That makes sense. I looked over the doc and yeah, I just missed it. My bad! Thanks for explaining it. I'm enjoying the game so far and I am super intrigued by these game mechanics.

I've got it in my notes to make the push part of the mechanic a bit bigger next update! Thanks for asking and for trying out the game! The PUSH mechanic is from an SRD by Cezar Cepacle - he's got some great stuff to check out as well!  https://capacle.itch.io/push

Great!  yeah, my pleasure!!

yesss I've used hisTriple-O system in games often. He does cool stuff.
