Lonely Road - A Solo RPG

You are exiled. Torn away by duty, failure, shame, or determination from a community that loved you - but not enough to save you. Their beliefs about who you should be - who you were supposed to be - meant the choice to leave wasn’t really a choice at all. It was survival. They love you, but they don’t want YOU back. Just what you could have been.

Lonely Road is a solo TTRPG made for the Desert Dwellings TTRPG Jam - it is directly inspired by the experiences of real stories and media I've encountered and experienced about fateful, coming of age journeys - like coming out for the first time as a part of the queer community, taking a dangerous trek across country lines for asylum, and great media representations such as Life of Pi, Zuko's whole desert sequence in Avatar The Last Airbender, and many many more. Journeys are a part of life, but not all inceptions for such travels (whether mental, physical, or emotional) are out of an earnest desire to grow. Sometimes, they are about survival, and picking yourself up in pieces afterwards to forge a more whole future.

More often than not, such journeys are made down lonely roads.
